Vienna-Samuel's story

Much like Alexander and Isaac, Samuel was sick with a bad cough before we left for Vienna. In fact the day prior to leaving, we got a nebulizer to use for him. Luckily we were able to get 3 doses of that steroid in him before flying. (Even still, we did get some looks every time he started hacking on the airplane.) Also, we were very fortunate to have gotten amoxicillin to bring with for Samuel. We packed up the nebulizer in our suitcase, not knowing if it would work abroad or not.

Since it's been over a month now, it's hard to recall the flight over to Vienna! All I know is that when we landed, I felt like we were broken in a million pieces! I know Samuel did a great job traveling, rolling with all the punches. As long as he was on me, he was fine.

Samuel became more of a mamas boy on our trip. (As if that was even possible!). Anytime he saw me or heard my voice he would start whimpering for me. Although having said that, he did bond with Omama in the moments she got him. :) The poor boy was also needing medicine for an ear infection 3 times a day, and that was Tony's job!

As evident in our pictures, Samuel was basically my accessory. Always in the carrier, or close by. He was my little marsupial. He joined me and Tony on our shopping excursion downtown as well as our date night (he loved gnawing on hard bread!). A very special moment was Samuel meeting Urli; the young meets the old, the circle of life!
