You have been waiting for SO long to be six, and the day finally came!!! That's the thing with a summer birthday, everyone else has their birthday during the school year. It's hard to wait until July; I know firsthand!
We celebrated with Omamas very special, just-for-Alexander-plate-licking-good chocolate cake. On your birthday morning, you opened your presents, which were a bunch of Lego Bionicles, Jurassic World, and a new writing desk. We searched for the perfect desk for you, because we know how much writing and drawing mean to you! Of course we stocked it full of white paper and new, juicy markers! You spent the morning diligently putting your Legos together with pride.
We saw the play "the little mermaid" at a children's theater in the afternoon, with Isaac, your cousins Julia and Katherine and Tante Therese. Of course we had DQ afterwards! You requested that we have a BBQ with cousins at Omama and Opapa's house. We let you make all the decisions that day! So a BBQ it was!
You celebrated the next day with school friends at Wabun park and splash pad. It was a pokemon party!! And oh so fun!!
Our dear Alexander, there are so many things I want you to know about when you were six:
- You must draw and color and create things in paper every day
- You love making up games and rules with Isaac
- You love having an agenda for the day
- You set goals for yourself on a regular basis
- Your room is filled with Legos and paper creations. I think it's messy. You think it's perfect.
- You are getting more confident at riding a bike!
- You play very sweetly with Samuel, and are always on the lookout that he's not getting into things
- You are a very picky eater- this we've been dealing with for years. Your papa and I are secretly waiting for the day you wake up and it's all changed!
- You still have tender moments with your mama. ❤️
- You are reading books- and can sound out words so well! You can even read in 2 languages!
- You love alone time.
We are so proud of you and are amazed by you every day!! It's not east being the oldest, but you sure are an awesome older brother to Isaac and Sammy.
