I want this picture to represent our Christmas this year.
Yes, I could go on in detail about each get together/Christmas celebration we had (there were many!). But after everything is said and done, it's not about the Christmas cookies or presents or decorations. Yes, light sabers are lovely and everyone loves chocolates ... But most important to me is that we had people to hug and celebrate with. My boys had each other to embrace on Christmas morning. It's like I blinked and suddenly am a mom of 3 boys- brothers!-. Their very first Christmas together. The first of many pictures by the Christmas tree...
I want our children to think that Christmas is as much about presence as it is about presents. Being with one another, creating memories, bottling up that childhood magic of Christmas! Sure they might remember the Christmas they got light sabers or a pirate ship. But my hope is that they also remember searching for fudge on opapa's Christmas tree, running around and being silly with cousins, writing Santa a note and feeling so much love on Christmas morning!
