Thankful

Being a stay at home mom can sometimes (often) be a thankless job. Yes, my boys have manners and will say "thank you mom" but  a lot of a SAHM's work goes unnoticed- no pay raise, no promotion, no dinners highlighting or celebrating a job well done. But I didn't become a mom to be thanked. Or noticed. What I do is out of love for my children. And although it can be thankless at times, these golden moments are really what matter and truly what I am thankful for:

-Isaac saying after Samuel was born, "yay mommy, now you can hold me and pick me up again!"

-after we brought Samuel home from the hospital, Isaac said "no one ever has to leave at night ever again!" (Meaning me leaving every night to see Samuel)

-the huge smiles- showing pride and happiness- at school pickup

-witnessing Alexander read words from a book for the first time

-hearing from Alexander's teacher, "he is the sweetest boy. He is kind to all the kids in the class."

-after getting my haircut (which happens twice a year), Alexander's face lit up and he shouted, "mommy! I love you and your haircut!"

-Alexander saying, "I think Samuel is going to be handsome, especially when he gets hair."

-Isaac saying over and over again, "I think he (Samuel) likes me," to which we always respond," yes honey, he loves you."

-both big boys saying at random moments, "hi cutie cutie Samuel" and kiss the top if his head

-Isaac:"when I grow up I want to be a papa"

-although Samuel can't talk yet, he does have a "language" with me. Just ask tony!

-finally, I'm thankful that I have a husband who supports me so much at my job as a SAHM and realizes both the joys and difficulties of motherhood (emotionally and physically)
